Fit To Be Tied

I have a heavy rotation of skirts and dresses in my closet, because I love their versatility and the feminine allure they add to any look.  Not a feminine allure that limits your look to a strictly 'girly' or 'femme' category, more like a nod to your own femininity, like 'hells yes I'm a lady, and that means I can rock a power blazer and high tops'.  I LOVE seeing how women express this side of themselves in any manner of fashion.  Pair them with super mod sunglasses or handbag to bring a bit of quirk, a graphic tee and beat up sneakers for something more laid back, or with some chunky heels and that power blazer to own that office look - there are so many options so never be afraid to get creative!

Before I purchase anything, I always size it up and think about the various ways it could work into my closet.  I try to buy things that I know I could get wear out of in numerous ways (disclaimer, not always  - I'm not perfect).  This knotted and striped skirt for example would look great paired back to a chunky sweater and some white sneakers, or over a black bodysuit with sneakers or strappy sandals - but I had recently bought this vintage collar necklace from Nest Delray and loved the warmth the worn brass lent to the black and white stripes of the skirt.  Add some chunky ankle tie heels and a fitted one shoulder top, and this skirt was ready for a night out!  We shot at the historic Colony Hotel in Delray Beach, which lent the black and white look a warmer, tropical vibe.  Hope y'all enjoy!
